Washington State GEAR UP wants to honor individuals for their commitment to ensuring that all students are academically, financially, and socially prepared to enter and successfully complete the postsecondary program of their choice. Individuals can nominate someone for an award, apply for an award themselves, or do both.

A current of excitement hummed in the Skyview High School biology lab on April 16. Visitors from NW Noggin unloaded real sheep’s brains, about the size of an apple and the color of clay, into metal dissection trays as some 20 high school freshmen, sophomores and juniors looked on.

Each year participating ProStart students showcase their talents in culinary and restaurant management in front of Chef and industry judges at the Boyd’s Coffee® ProStart Invitational. Students compete for thousands of dollars in scholarships and the chance to go to nationals.

Raymond Junior/Senior High School and Willapa Valley High School! The award acknowledges outstanding improvement in reading and math sustained over a five-year period and is limited to schools in the top 5 percent of improvement for their grade band.
