Unlocking Opportunity: A Community Conversation on Student Success after High School

Join Washington State GEAR UP for a dynamic gathering where voices from every corner of your community—strategic partners, business leaders, families, educators, students, and more—come together to strengthen supports for long-term student success.

Upcoming Events:

  • Oct. 15- Lewis County Roundtable @Centralia College.
  • Oct. 16- Grays Harbor Roundtable @Log Pavilion, Aberdeen.
  • Oct. 22- Chelan/Okanogan Roundtable @Wenatchee Valley College.

Note: Events are scheduled from 10:30 AM to 2:30 PM, with lunch provided.

By weaving together diverse perspectives and ensuring systems and supports are connected and collaborative, we’ll explore solutions that align GEAR UP work to academic, workforce, and community development.

Types of Questions We’ll Explore Together:

  • What is the role of the community in ensuring student success in post-high school pathways?
  • Is there a disconnect between the student supports and the skills required in the job market?
  • What local industries or employers are experiencing labor shortages, and what skill sets are currently missing?
  • What are the fastest-growing occupations in the region, and do existing training programs align with these trends?
  • Do students and job seekers have enough awareness and guidance about career pathways and training options?
  • How can GEAR UP help facilitate student success that supports community needs?

Let’s break down silos, foster innovation, and build a future where every student has the tools, guidance, and network needed to thrive in your region. Join us in shaping a system of student support that works for everyone.
