Washington State GEAR UP students can continue to receive career and college support for up to one year after high school graduation. 

HOW DO I CONNECT?

Contact your GEAR UP Advisor or other high school support staff.  

Connect with on-campus GEAR UP peer mentors, who can provide support if you attend one of our partner colleges: Wenatchee Valley College, Centralia College, or Grays Harbor College.

Use OtterBot, a free, legit, 24/7 financial aid and college planning texting service. It provides personalized assistance, reminders about deadlines, and answers to your financial aid questions. To get started, students can text “Hi Otter” to 360.928.7281, and parents can text “Hi Otter” to 360.634.0354.

Not attending a Partner School? Contact your high school GEAR UP Advisor for assistance. 

WAGU Scholarship

WSAC's current state GEAR UP program will support approximately 6,800 students each year, from 7th grade through their first year of post-high school education, with eligible students receiving scholarships of up to $1,000.

This scholarship is available to qualifying WAGU students who participated in the program between 2025 and 2031 and graduated from an eligible high school.
